Tresa Hogsed Hiers, 52, of Murphy died Saturday (March 31, 2007) in Union General hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Wade W. and Gladys Robertson Hogsed. She had worked for 23 years for Walmart. Tresa was a member of Notla Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife. Surviving are her husband, Tommy Hiers; three aunts, Ann Cochran of Bryson City, Vena Beaver of Elkins, NC, and Etta Mae Hogsed of Ohio; two uncles, Erois Robertson of Murphy, and Ralph Hogsed of Blairsville, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services at 11:00 AM Tuesday (April 3) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Revs. Avery Beaver and James Paul officiating. Interment will be in the Bellview Community Cemetery. Cousins will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy. Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.
