Fred Mosteller, 77, of Hayesville died Sunday (March 23, 2008) in a Clay County care center. He was a native of Cherokee County, but had lived in Clay County since 1975. He was the son of the late Van and Alice Lee Mosteller and the husband of the late Leona Green Mosteller. Fred was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army. He had been an employee of Baker’s Furniture and was of the Church of God faith.
 
Surviving are a sister, Anita Wishon of Ellijay, GA; and a brother, Claude Mosteller of Andrews.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday (March 27) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Rev. Eugene Freeman officiating. Interment in the Union Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post 96, DAV Chapter 73, VFW Post 10222, and the Hayesville VFW Post 6812 (Allison-Bristol). Pallbearers:  Ronnie Smith, Bruce Cheek, Mack Rodgers, Steve Cothren, Timmy Jones, and Dwight Long.
 
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
