GEORGE McKINLEY REESE JR.
 

George McKinley Reese Jr., 75, of Murphy died Wednesday (March 12, 2008). He was a native of Cherokee County, but had lived in Jacksonville, FL for 30 years before moving back to Murphy in 1985. He was the son of the late George McKinley Reese Sr. and Ada Hedrick Reese. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. George was retired from commercial insulation and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Alene Johnson Reese; a daughter, Sheila Britt and husband, Norman Daniel Britt of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Mary Nell Bell of South Pittsburg, TN, and Bobbie Jean Stalcup and Billie Jane Lovin both of Murphy; and a grandson, Norman Daniel Britt Jr.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (March 16) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Allen Harris officiating. Interment in Ledford Cemetery. Pallbearers: K.O. Arp, Jackie and David Burrell, Norman Britt, Jr., Jeff Frady, and Chad Chastain.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
