JANIE  ANN  LOVINGOOD


 

Janie Ann Lovingood, 64, of Murphy died Sunday (March 2, 2008) in a Clay County care center.  A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late John Ernest and Sylena Taylor Whitener.  She had worked at American Thread from 1968-1972 and she was a member of the New Hope Church of God.
 
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Whitener.
 
Surviving are her husband, James R. Lovingood;  two sons, Scottie J. Lovingood of Chatsworth, GA and Jason R. Lovingood of Cleveland, TN;  a sister, Iva Jean Hendrick of Whitesburg, GA;  four brothers, Leroy Whitener and Richard Whitener both of Murphy, Harvey Whitener of Dalton, GA, and Michael Whitener of Waynesville, NC;  and five grandchildren.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Wednesday (March 5) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Revs. David Watson and Randy Taylor officiating.  Interment in Ogreeta Cemetery.  Pallbearers: Sidney Hendrick, Chris Henson, Tim and Devin Whitener, Casey Southerland, and Ryan Dockery.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
