LOIS EDWARDS BURCH
Lois Edwards Burch, 71, of Hayesville died Friday (March 21, 2008) in a Union County, GA hospital. A native of Jackson County, NC, she had lived most of her life in Hayesville. She was the daughter of Louise Edwards of Hayesville, formerly of Whittier, NC, and the late Alton Edwards. She was a retired school teacher, having worked 30 years with the Clay County School System. She was a member of the North Carolina Teacher’s Association and the Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to the mother, are her husband, Bobby S. Burch; three daughters, Pam Patterson and husband, Denny of Hayesville, Kellie Lambert and husband, Matt of Peachtree City, GA, and Kristi Cook and husband, Darren of Hayesville; a sister, Janie E. Merchant and husband, Wayne of Conover, NC; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Monday (March 24) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Revs. Jackie Sellers and Harry Hawk officiating. Interment in the Ledford’s Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers: Denny Patterson, Matt Lambert, Darren Cook, Todd Merchant, Josh Best, and Josh Lambert.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Monday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in loving memory of Lois Edwards Burch to the Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery c/o Betty Jane Ashe, 285 W.J. Cabe Road, Hayesville, NC 28904 or to the Hayesville Elementary School, 72 Elementary Drive, Hayesville, NC 28904.
