MAYBELLE  PATRICIA  DEVINE

Maybelle Patricia Devine, 66, of Hayesville died Thursday (March 20, 2008) at her residence. She was a native of Buncombe County, NC and was the daughter of Phillip W. Hollifield of Hayesville and the late Maybelle Patricia Stevens Hollifield.  She had been a nurse’s aide at Towns County, GA hospital.  Pat was a past president for three years of Garrett Owenby Post 7808 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past president for one year for State of Georgia Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She was a founding member of the Clay County Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary.  Pat was a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church.


Surviving, in addition to her father, are her husband, Thomas Howard Devine;  a daughter, Debra Sheridan and husband, Ricky of Tybee Island, GA;  two brothers, Dan Hollifield and wife, Patricia of Hayesville and James Hollifield of Dawsonville, GA;  and two grandchildren and a great grandchild.


Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (March 23) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Charles Magnet officiating. Interment in the Old Ledford Cemetery. Pallbearers:  Vick Nimkovich, Larry Chambers, Steven Lyvers, Jason Elliott, Albert Deroshie, and Rusty Murray.


The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
