TIMOTHY  WAYNE “TIM” JONES


 

Timothy Wayne “Tim” Jones, 49, of Hayesville died Thursday, March 6, 2008.  A native of Fulton County, GA, Tim had lived in Clay County since 1985. He was retired from the United States Air Force where he worked as an airframe repair specialist.  He was a member of the Oak View Baptist Church.
 
Surviving are his wife, Loretta Ledford Jones;  a daughter, Sabrina Jones of the home;  a son, Timothy Wayne Jones Jr. of the home; his father, Ernest Grady Jones and wife, Mildred of Dawsonville, GA;  his mother, Thelma M. Carney Jones McDonald of Cleveland, GA; three sisters, Debra Gillespie of Jonescreek, TX, Connie Jones of Cleveland, GA, and Angie Jones of Dahlonega, GA;  a brother, Anthony Jones of Dahlonega;  and a step-brother, Chris Maddox of Lula, GA.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (March 9) in the Oak View Baptist Church with the Rev. David Cothren officiating.  Interment in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post 96, DAV Chapter 73, VFW Post 10222, and Hayesville VFW Post 6812 (Allison-Bristol). Pallbearers:  Greg Chambers, Daniel and Josh Gillespie, Michael Ledford, Steve Stiles, and David Penland.  Honorary pallbearers:  Steve Cothren, Bruce Cheeks, and Bob Long.
 
The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville where the body will be until placed in the church at the service hour.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Timothy Wayne “Tim” Jones to the Oak View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Dorothy Ledford, 3541 Downings Creek Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
