CAROLYN WYKE  BARTON
 

Carolyn Wyke Barton of Seneca, SC, formerly of Andrews, passed away Monday (May 14, 2007) at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca.
 
She was the daughter of Blanche Lail Wyke of Seneca and Andrews and the late Crawford Wyke.
 
Carolyn was a 1962 graduate of Andrews High School in Andrews.  She retired as a real estate agent and a business owner.  She was a member of the Andrews United Methodist Church.
 
She may have only been the mother of two girls but she claimed all as her own and she was affectionately known as Gan by her grandchildren and all that knew her.
 
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her loving husband of 37 years, Gerald Barton;  two daughters, Debbie Busch and husband, Charlie of Seneca and Brooke Barton and boyfriend, Shannon Thompson of Walhalla, SC;  a sister, Melba Wyke of Seneca and Andrews;  a brother, Billy Wyke of McDonough, GA;  four grandsons, Kyle King and wife, Christin, T.J. King and wife, Laura, and Chase Busch all of Seneca, and Zachary Thompson of Walhalla;  and a great granddaughter, Kailey King of Seneca.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday (May 17) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Dr. Chester Jones officiating. Interment in the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers:  Howard Willbanks, Kyle and T.J. King, Bobby Barton, John Reighard, and Bart Parson.
 
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Carolyn Wyke Barton to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Chapter, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
