KRISTEN DOUGLAS LEDFORD

Kristen Douglas Ledford, 29, of Hayesville died unexpectedly Wednesday (May 30, 2007) as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. A native and lifetime resident of Clay County, he had attended Clay County and Towns County schools. Kristen was employed as a carpenter by his father. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding his Harley.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert W. Ledford; and his maternal grandparents, John W. and Lottie Mashburn Martin.

Surviving are his wife, Heather Warne Ledford; a son, Mason Douglas Ledford of the home; his father and step-mother, Larry D. Ledford and wife, Sylvia of Hiawassee, GA; his mother and step-father, Marilyn M. Martin Ledford Hall and husband, Joe of Hayesville; two step-sisters, Ginny Shirley of Hiawassee and Amanda Jones of Young Harris, GA; and his paternal grandmother, Loree Hogsed Ledford of Hayesville.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (June 3) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Clark Moss and Stuart Nichols officiating. Interment in the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeff Ledford, Justin Howell, Eric Martin, Cody Shelton, Derrick Cunningham, and Terry Allison. Honorary pallbearers: Sonny, Brad, and Ronnie King, and Mark Sandberg.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.

The family requests memorials be made in memory of Kristen Douglas Ledford to the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 951 Old Highway 64 East, Hayesville, NC 28904.
