PEARL J. JOHNSON

Pearl J. Johnson, 69, of Murphy died Friday (May 25, 2007) in a Murphy hospital. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Will Jackson and Nell Lovingood Johnson. Pearl had operated the Johnson family farm in the Peachtree Community for most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Willa Mae Cox;  and two brothers, J.B, and Jerry Johnson.
 
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Sue Nicholson Johnson;  a son, Shawn Johnson and wife, Penny of Murphy;   a sister, Hazel Tanner of Marietta, GA;  a brother, Fred Johnson of Murphy;  a grandson, Will Jackson Johnson;  and several nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Monday (May 28) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Revs. Rick Edwards and Aud Brown officiating. Interment in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers:  Wayne Holland, Johnny Moore, Hugh Nicholson, Eddie Ferguson, Hugh Cox, and Steve Hembree.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
