DAYTON V. SANDERS


 

Dayton V. Sanders, 68, of Hayesville died Sunday (May 11, 2008) in an Asheville, NC hospital.  A native and lifetime resident of Clay County, he was the son of the late Luther Henderson and Mina McCray Sanders.  He was a retired janitor with the Clay County School System and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.
 
Surviving are a sister, Nina Sanders of Hayesville; and a brother, Albert Sanders and wife, Emma Lou of Navarre, OH.  
 
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday (May 14) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Dallas Crowder, Bill Dyer, and Billy Franklin officiating.  Interment was held in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.
 
The family received friends from 12-1:45 Wednesday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
 
The family requests memorials be made in memory of Dayton V. Sanders to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 191 Hummingbird Drive, Hayesville, NC 28904.
