KATHERINE MARIE HOWELL
 

Katherine Marie Howell, 86, of Murphy died Monday (May 19, 2008) at her residence. A native of Marion, OH, she had been living in Murphy since 2006. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Clark and Nora Belle Baker Baird and the wife of the late Kenneth Lorenzo Howell, who died in 1991. She was a homemaker and a member of the Murphy First United Methodist Church.
 
Surviving are a son, Harold Michael Martin and wife, Pamela of Murphy; two step-daughters, Frances Roberta Phillips and husband, Lynn of Mt. Victory, OH and Jeanette Sue Repine and husband, Mike of Marion, OH; two grandchildren, Reece Michael Martin and Christopher Douglas Martin;  and seven great grandchildren.
 
No services are planned.  Interment will be held at a later date in Marion Cemetery in Marion, OH.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Katherine Marie Howell to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Chapter, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906 or Make A Wish Foundation, 1293 Hendersonville Road, No. 1, Asheville, NC 28803.
