Glesta W. Raxter, 99, of Pine Grove Road, Andrews died Wednesday, November 26, 2003 in a Murphy hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Algie and Ella Adams West and the wife of the late Dillie G. Raxter, who died June 1968. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews, where she was an active member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Raxter Horne and a grandson, Phillip Raxter.

Surviving are a son, Donald Raxter and wife, Mildred and Dennis Raxter and wife, Jane all of Andrews; and three grandsons, Dillie Hugh, Dale, and David Raxter.

Funeral services at 11:00 AM Friday (Nov. 28) in the First Baptist Church in Andrews with Dr. Tommy Lamb and Rev. Fred Lunsford officiating. Burial in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Marlin and Allen Parker, Walter and Lane Raxter, Maurice Sherrill, Virgil Gibson, and Goldman Roper.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 Friday morning at the First Baptist Church, Andrews.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Andrews, PO Box 427, Andrews, NC 28901.
