Lucretia
Jarrett, 60, of Winston Salem, NC, formerly of Murphy
died Saturday, November 29, 2003 in Forsyth Medical Center.
A native of Cherokee County, but had been living in Winston
Salem for the past seven years. She was the daughter
of Mary Burch Street of Hayesville and the late Claude
D. Street. She had worked for several years as a hairdresser,
and was presently working as a senior teller with the
North Carolina State Employees Credit Union. She was
an active member of the Maple Springs United Methodist
Church, and was very involved with Mission Building Teams
in the states and overseas. Lucretia was also involved
with Habitat for Humanities.
Surviving in addition to her mother are two daughters, Tracy Dawes and her
husband, Rick of Sophia, NC, and Lisa Warner and her husband, Jeff of Welcome,
NC; and one grandson, Jarrett Warner.
Funeral services at 1:00 PM Monday (Dec. 1) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral
Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Jackie Sellers and Naomi King officiating.
Burial in the Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers:
Bobby Burch, Chuck Plemmons, Chuck and Joe Waldroup, Darren Cook, and Matt
Lambert.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:45 Monday (Dec. 1) at the Ivie
Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the House Raising
Volunteers, Clay and Cherokee Counties, P.O. Box 706, Murphy, NC 28906 or
to the Clay County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 325, Hayesville, NC 28904.
