MICHAEL EDWARD HINTON



Michael Edward Hinton, 57, of Murphy died Sunday (Nov. 30, 2003) at his residence. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Hubert “Pug” and Gladys Palmer Hinton. He had worked for Remco and MGM Brakes for 27 years. He was a member of the Mount Liberty Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Juanita McDonald Hinton; a son, Michael Scott Hinton of Murphy; a sister, LaVean Wiggins of Murphy; and two brothers, Gus Hinton of Murphy and Hubert Hinton of Decatur, GA.

Funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday (Dec. 3) in the Mount Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Garrett officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Hubert and Gus Hinton, Woodrow Palmer, Mark Wiggins, Allen McDonald, and Merbin Garcia.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy where the body will be until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.

The family requests memorials be made to the Mount Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2700 Old Murphy Road, Murphy, NC 28906 or the Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency, PO Box 465, Hayesville, NC 28904.
