WILLIAM
RICKY LEDFORD
William Ricky Ledford, 46, of Murphy died Tuesday
(Nov. 18, 2003) in a Polk County, TN hospital. He was a native
of Cherokee County, where he had lived most of his life. He
was the son of Frank and Linda Faye Ledford Ledford of the
Liberty Community. Ricky had served in the United States Air
Force. He was an iron worker and a member of the Pleasant Hill
Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sons, Jared Clark Ledford of Warne
and Jack Anthony Ledford of Garfield, OH; a sister, Linda Carol Postell of Liberty
Community; a brother, Phillip “Bit” Ledford of Liberty Community;
and the maternal grandmother, Effie Ledford of Liberty Community.
Funeral services at 8:00 PM Thursday (Nov. 20) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral
Home, Murphy with the Revs. Cecil Coleman and Shannon Helton officiating. Burial
at 11:00 AM Friday (Nov. 21) in the River Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brad, Joshua,
Heath, Brian, and Billy Ray Ledford, Ray White, Jackie Bryant, and Scott Allen.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral
Home, Murphy prior to the services.
The family requests memorials may be made to the River Hill Cemetery Fund, c/o
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 100 Liberty Lane, Murphy, NC 28906.
Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.
