BARBARA CHIARELLO

Barbara Chiarello, 77, of Murphy died Sunday (Nov. 28, 2004) at her residence. A native of Rochester, NY, she had lived in California for 30 years and in Florida for four years before moving to this area in 1992. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Thomas and Katherine Ellen Gavin Purnell and the wife of the late Vincent J. Chiarello, who died June 3, 1986. She was a homemaker and had taught art at Tri-County Community College for several years. She was a member of the Unity Church of Boynton Beach, FL.

Surviving are two sons, Gary Harter of Ocala, FL and Danny Harter of Rochester, NY; a sister, Marjorie Tellex and husband, Peter of Palm City, FL; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Mosher of Hamlin, NY.

Memorial services at 11:00 AM Saturday (Dec. 4) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. George Simmons officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Cherokee Trail Decorative Painters, c/o Roberta Bull, 209 Holly Brook Drive, Murphy, NC 28906.
