A native of Martin County, FL, she had been living in North Carolina for the past 11 years. She was attending Gaston Community College. Erin had been attending the Murphy First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed life and listening to her music. Surviving are her mother, Kim Speake of Maiden, NC; her father, Wesley Thompson of Pelham, GA; two sisters, Rachael Barnhart and Linnea Barnhart both of Maiden; maternal grandparents, Darrell and Nancy Halling of Warne; and a paternal grandmother, Ellen Thompson of Pelham, GA. Memorial celebration services at 3:00 PM Sunday (Nov. 21) in the Murphy First United Methodist Church with Rev. George Yates officiating. Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville in charge of arrangements.
