JOHN R. TATHAM

John R. Tatham, 96, of Andrews died Tuesday (Nov. 30, 2004) in a Murphy hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Henry R. and Julia Ann Chambers Tatham. John was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre. He was a self-employed house painter and a member of the Andrews First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Tatham, who died Aug. 4, 1993.

Surviving are a first cousin, Ruth Roper of Andrews; a caregiver, Angie Mayfield and family of Andrews; and other cousins of Andrews.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Wednesday (Dec. 1) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Revs. Tommy Lamb and Lewis Welch officiating. Burial in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jack Mintz, Chub Brooks, Robert Pullium, James and Robert Mayfield, Michael Raxter, and Billy Brown.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 Wednesday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the services.
