A native of Valley Stream, NY, Richard had been living in Murphy for the past ten years. He was the son of the late Henry and Marie Brunn Hessing. He was an inspector with the US Army and was a member of the Saint William Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hessing, who died in 2003. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Hessing; a daughter, Debbie White and husband, Don of Russellville, AR; a step-daughter, Laura McMahon and husband, David of Patchogue, NY; a step-son, Steven Reiter and wife, Dawn of Flanders, NY; a sister, Ruth DaVanzo and husband, Steve of Malverne, NY; a brother, Bob Hessing of Florida; and four step-grandchildren. Memorial mass at 2:00 PM Sunday (Nov. 13) in the Saint William Catholic Church with Father George Kloster officiating. Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements. Remember
