TEDDY BARBARA HAWKINS

Teddy Barbara Hawkins, 59, of Hayesville died Monday (Nov. 28, 2005). A native of Atlanta, GA., she had lived in Raleigh before moving to this area in 1997. She was the daughter of the late Ted and Dorothy Dunnivan Burghduff. She had worked for over 20 years with the Dobbs House / Host Marriott in the food and beverage industry at the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport and later transferred to the Raleigh-Durham Airport. She retired and helped her daughter manage and operate Cheri's Seafood Company in Hiawassee and Murphy.

Surviving are four daughters, Tiffany Ridley of Apex, NC, Cheri DuPree of SC, Melissa Bannister of Kennesaw, GA, and Mindy Huffman of Clayton, NC; one son, Richard Ferguson of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Dorothy Mathis of Augusta, GA and Mary Wiley of High Falls, GA; three grandchildren whom she was raising, Chasity Lynn Ferguson, Brooke Alexandria Ferguson, and Ashlee Richelle Ferguson; four other grandchildren, Brandon Keith Bannister, Amber Nicole Huffman, Christopher Lee Huffman Jr., and Landen Buren Powell; and her lifelong companion and friend, Winston Reeves.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Friday (Dec. 2, 2005) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Robert Heard officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Christopher Huffman, Christopher Bannister, Steve Ridley, Larry Mathis, and Irby and Greg Pruitt.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
