IRENE  SIMONSEN


 

Irene Simonsen, 95, of Murphy died Saturday (Nov. 24, 2007) at her residence.  A native of Hudson County, NJ, she had been living in Cherokee County since 1994.  She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine Stuppel Ehrmanntraut and was the wife of the late Edgar H. Simonsen, and the mother of the late William Simonsen. Irene was a homemaker and attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Hackensack, NJ.  She participated in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Bergen County, NJ.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Therese Simonsen of Murphy;  a son, Robert Simonsen of Tilton, NH;  two grandchildren, Chrysalis Wild, and David Simonsen;  and a special friend, Brenda Coker.
 
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
