HAROLD V. MASHBURN
 

Harold V. Mashburn, 80, of Jamestown, NC, formerly of the Nantahala Community, died Wednesday (November 28, 2007) in High Point Regional Hospital. He was a native of Macon County, but had lived in High Point since 1955. He was the son of the late Monroe and Bertha Morgan Mashburn. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army. Harold was retired from the furniture industry. He was of the Baptist faith.
 
He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Michael Mashburn and James Judson Mashburn.
 
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ina Bell Morgan Mashburn; a daughter, Brenda Ledford of Jamestown;  two sons, Andrew Melvin Mashburn and Samuel V. Mashburn both of Jamestown;  a sister, Gertrude Owenby of Marble;  and four grandchildren and a great grandchild.
 
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Monday (Dec. 3) in the Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Marlin McMahan officiating. Interment in the Union Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers:  Andrew Melvin, Samuel V., and Donald Mashburn, Jason Ledford, and Richard and Matthew Morgan.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews where the body will be until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in loving memory of Harold V. Mashburn to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Chapter, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
