PATRICIA  R.  ABBE
 

Patricia R. Abbe, 80, of Murphy died Tuesday (Nov. 13, 2007) in an Asheville hospital.  A native of Huntington, WV, she had lived in Jupiter, FL before moving to Cherokee County eight years ago.  She was the daughter of the late Daniel S. and Lillian Daily McFarland.  In her early years, she had worked as a secretary for a doctor but for most of her life, she was a homemaker. Patricia was of the Lutheran faith.
 
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Walter Abbe;  four daughters, Elizabeth Howard and Anita Abbe both of Murphy, Deborah Ortega of Jacksonville, FL, and Constance Abbe of Flintville, TN;  four sons, Stephen Schonk of Prattville, AL, Jim Schonk of Evanston, IN, Richard Schonk of Sanford, FL, and William Schonk of Orlando, FL;  a brother, Daniel McFarland of Tulsa, OK; and 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
 
Funeral services at 7:00 PM Thursday (Nov. 15) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Pastor Donald Marking officiating.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-6:50 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Patricia R. Abbe to David’s House, PO Box 356, Hayesville, NC 28904.
