RAYMOND JOSEPH SERAPHIN

Raymond Joseph Seraphin, 83, of Murphy, NC died Monday (November 26, 2007) in a Sylva, NC hospital. He was a native of Hartford, CT, but had been living in Tolland, CT before moving to Murphy, NC 23 years ago. He was the son of the late Frederick J. and Helen Dalton Seraphin. Ray was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Coast Guard. A successful entrepreneur, he was owner and operator of Ray Seraphin Ford in Rockville, CT, which is today managed by his son. He was a member of the Saint William Catholic Church.
Everyone who knew Raymond recognized his special love of dogs, showing in the number of dogs he and his wife cared for and their continued support of numerous animal rights organizations.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Seraphin Ensign; a grandson, Andrew John McCusker V; and two brothers, Frederick J. Seraphin and Robert O. Seraphin.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Marguerite “Marge” Camozzi Seraphin; a daughter, Deborah Rae McCusker of Portland, ME; a son, Raymond John Seraphin of Tolland, CT; four grandchildren, Carrie Ann McCusker-Brady and husband, Tom Brady, Erinn Heather McCusker, Ethan Raymond McCusker, and Bruce Arthur Ensign Jr. and wife, Mica Ensign; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial services at 11:00 AM Friday in the Saint William Catholic Church with Father George Kloster officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the Saint William Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Raymond Joseph Seraphin to the Valley River Humane Society, 7450 US 19, Marble, NC 28905.
