JUNIOR “Belve” DAVIS
Fred Junior “Belve” Davis, 70, of Nantahala
died Wednesday (Oct. 8, 2003) in a Murphy hospital. A native
and lifetime resident of Macon County, he was the son of
the late Fred and Lillie Pendergrass Davis and the husband
of the late Claudelle Mashburn Davis, who died Aug. 12, 2002.
He was a retired inspector with Baker Furniture and a member
of the White Oak Flats Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Gail Ladd and Martha Roseann Stillwell both
of Murphy; a son, Robert Dean Davis of Topton; four sisters, Kate Roark of
High Point, NC, Lucy White of Andrews, Ethel Meaders of Cornelia, GA, and Zoe.A
Stillwell of Hayesville; three brothers, Colon Davis of Black Mountain, NC,
Clint Davis of Andrews, and Carl Davis of High Point; and five grandchildren
and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Friday (Oct. 10) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral
Home, Andrews with the Rev. Stanley McConnell officiating. Burial in Old Silvermine
Cemetery. Pallbearers: Rick, Derek, and Anthony Stillwell, Chris Ladd, Bennie
Davis, and Dennis Day.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral
Home, Andrews.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee
County Chapter, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
