GLADYS
FRANKLIN
Gladys Franklin, 81, of
Hayesville died Sunday, October 19, 2003 in Clay County
Care Center. A native and lifetime resident of Clay Co.,
she was a daughter of the late Grady and Lucy Hall Hawkins,
and the wife of the late Max J. Franklin who died in
1958. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a daughter,
Christine Dailey and her husband, Jack of Hayesville;
two sons, Gene Franklin and his wife, Sherry of Dalton,
GA, and James Franklin and his wife, Linda of Birmingham,
AL; two sisters, Ruby Hughes of Hayesville, and Nell
Hughes of Eugene, OR; a brother, Cecil Hawkins of Warne,
NC; and nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 11:00
AM Tuesday (Oct. 21) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral
Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Ronald Ford officiating.
Burial in the Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers:
Mark Turner, and Allen and Scott Oder.
The family will receive
friends from 10:00-10:45 Tuesday morning at the Ivie
Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
The family requests memorials
be made to the Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery Fund,
c/o Gennette Dye, 9670 Gumlog Rd., Young Harris, GA 30582.
