A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Jack Donald and Wilma Taylor Cornwell. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. Surviving are her husband, Don Cougle; two special nieces, Cari Barnett of Brasstown and Stephanie Bright of Hayesville; two sisters, Tina Bohanon of Georgetown, OH and Denise Hendershot of Stevi, MT; a brother, Kevin Cornwell of Hayesville; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Private viewing was held at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Hayesville Chapter, PO Box 1193, Hayesville, NC 28904.
