MARTHA HOYLE WILLIAMSON

Martha Hoyle Williamson, 75, of Hayesville died Monday (Oct. 13, 2003) in an Asheville hospital after a brief illness. A native and lifetime resident of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Stella Gusta Bell Jones and the wife of the late Donald Williamson. She had worked for several years as secretary for the Superintendent of the Clay County School System and retired after 22 years with the US Postal Service. She was a member of the Truett Memorial Baptist Church. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.She was preceded in death by a brother, William Arthur Jones Jr. and a grandson, John Adam Hoyle.Surviving are a son, John Michael Hoyle and wife, Denise of Hayesville; a sister, Wilma Jones Crawford of Sandy Springs, GA; and four step-grandchildren, Amanda, Valerie, Marsha, and Joseph Barnes.Funeral services at 11:00 AM Thursday (Oct. 16) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Johnny Foster officiating. Burial in the Hayesville Baptist/ Presbyterian Cemetery. Pallbearers: David Penland, Bass and David Hyatt, Thomas Wimpey, Lynwood Anderson, and Gary Nichols.The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday eveing at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
