A native of Ashland, KY, but had lived in Lake Park, FL before moving to Cherokee County in 1987. He was a retired employee of Pratt and Whitney, and was a member of the St. William Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Juanita Knox Bentine; four sons, Charles Bentine and his wife, Nancy, Stephen Bentine and his wife, Sheila, David and Paul Bentine; and three grandchildren, Marcello, Marcus, and Nolon Bentine. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday (Oct. 29) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Father George Kloster officiating. Burial in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
