CALVIN COOLIDGE DOUTHIT
Calvin Coolidge Douthit, 77, of the Nantahala community, Topton died Saturday (October 9, 2004) at his residence. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late George Washington and Eula Jane Cochran Douthit. He was a master carpenter in the house building industry and was a member of the Briartown Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ella Mae Passmore Douthit; a daughter, Delores Williams and her husband, Joe of Nantahala; a son, Mike Douthit of Nantahala; three grandsons and four great grandchildren; and an aunt, Blanche Franklin of Franklin, NC.
Funeral services at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 12) in the Briartown Baptist Church with Revs. Larry Icenhower and S.J. Waters officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Scott Cope, Doug Derreberry, Mike Franklin, Neal Woody, Steve Riley, and Shane Gregory. Johnny, Israel, and Jack Derreberry, and Charlie Callicut as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Monday evening (Oct. 11) at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews where the body will be until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
