WILMA LOVINGOOD



Wilma Lovingood, 84, of Marble died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at her residence. A native and lifelong residence of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Rosie Garren Hancock, and the wife of the late Wayne Lovingood who died in 1985. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church of Marble. She was preceded in death by two sons, James and John Lovingood.

Surviving are three daughters, Lois Johnson and her husband, Harold, Carolyn Moss and her husband, Marvin, all of Marble, and Jean Hogsed and her husband, Malcolm of Andrews; three sons, Clinton Lovingood and his wife, Kathy, Cecil Lovingood and his wife, Wanda, and Ken Lovingood and his wife, Toni, all of Marble; three sisters, Kathryn Dockery of Hickory, NC, Helen Wyke, and Guin Dockery, both of Marble; a brother, Charles Hancock of Marble; and 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren; and a total of 64 immediate family members.

Funeral services at 7:30 Monday evening (Oct. 11) at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Marble with Revs. Paul Ray Morgan and Fred Lunsford officiating. Graveside services at 10:00 AM Tuesday (Oct. 12) at the Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tim and Todd Moss, Doug and Greg Lovingood, Mark Johnson, and Nathan Hogsed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:15 Monday evening at the Oak Grove Baptist Church prior to the services. The family requests memorials be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Marble, Mortgage Fund, c/o Mark Farmer, P.O. Box 1094, Murphy, NC 28906.
