Harold Garlin Taylor

Harold Garlin Taylor, 62, of Murphy died Monday (October 3, 2005) in a Murphy hospital. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of Gladys Radford Taylor of Murphy and the late Frank H. Taylor. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Marine Corp. He was owner and operator of Superior Restoration and Remodeling, Inc. He was also an ordained minister in the Church of God.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Ruth Taylor; and two brothers, Doyle and Wayne Taylor.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 41 years, Mary Ramsey Taylor; a daughter, Hillary E. Taylor of the home; a son, Jack Taylor of Murphy; four sisters, Auyvonne “Ellen” Marlow of California, KY, Betty Jane Vela of Lexington, KY, Billie Jean Wernke of Medley, FL, and Linda Laverne Coomer of Goshen, OH; and three grandchildren, Joshua Taylor, Troy Lamar Taylor, and Tia Danielle Taylor.

Funeral services at 7:00 PM Wednesday (Oct. 5) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. James Lovingood officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
