JANE GROGAN

Jane Grogan, 78, of Marble died Friday, October 14, 2005 in a Murphy care facility. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, she had lived in South Borough, Massachusetts before moving to Murphy in 1979. She was the daughter of the late Edward Harrison and Esther Lucy Webb Bell and the wife of the late Hugh "Grampy" Grogan, who died in 2000. She was a retired manager of the No Name Deli, and was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Epperly of Murphy; five sons, Richard Mercer of Brasstown, Alan Mercer of Hayesville, Eddie Mercer of Jefferson, ME, Mark Mercer of Framingham, MA, and Danny Mercer of Hopkinington, MA; a brother, Frank Bell of Abington, MA; and 12 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 5:00 PM Sunday (October 16) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Tommy Fields officiating. Burial at 2:00 PM Wednesday (Oct. 19) in the Newton Cemetery in Newton, MA.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:45 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in loving memory of Jane Grogan to Reach, P.O. Box 977, Murphy, NC 28906.
