MARGARET T. “Peg” CASEY
Margaret T. “Peg” Casey passed away peacefully in Murphy, NC on Friday (October 28, 2005) in the care of her loving family.
Peg was born in Fallsington, PA, one of twelve children and daughter of the late James and Julia Gibbin Small. Peg was licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as Registered Nurse in 1943 and served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1944 to 1949, honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. A long time resident of Pinellas County, FL, Peg provided care in several area health care facilities including St. Anthony's Hospital, Bayfront Medical Center and Bay Pines VA Medical Center. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park, FL. An independent and selfless woman, Peg devoted her life to her children, and took great joy in the lives of her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Casey and his wife, Pamela of Murphy and Patrick Casey and his wife, Yvette of Hendersonville, TN; a sister, Sr. Rita Small of Sisters of Mercy Convent in Merion Station, PA; a brother, Michael Small and his wife, Carol of Winthrop, ME; and three grandchildren, Zachary Casey of St. Petersburg, FL, and Laura and Brian Casey both of Hendersonville, TN.
A private memorial family prayer service was held at 11:00 AM Monday (Oct. 31) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Father George Kloster officiating.
