PEARLINA M. HASKETT

Pearlina M. Haskett, 81, of Murphy died Tuesday (October 25, 2005) in a Murphy medical center. A native of Smithfield, NC, Pearlina had lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL before moving to Murphy in 1977. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Pearlina James Murphy. She was a homemaker and a member of the Murphy First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Blairsville, GA, where she had taught Sunday School and had worked in Vacation Bible School.

Surviving are her husband, James E. Haskett Sr.; two sons, James E. Haskett Jr. and wife, Susan of Murphy and Richard T. Haskett and wife, Betty of Asheville; three sisters, Ramona Carrol of Fairview, PA, and Marion Taylor and Carol Arthur both of New Bern, NC; six brothers, Nick, Frank, Raymond, and Graham Murphy all of New Bern, Roy Murphy of Greenville, NC, and Millard Murphy of Smithfield, VA; four grandchildren, Jennifer E., Eddie, Ricky, and Yvonne Haskett; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday (Oct. 29) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Revs. Billy Rayburn and Robert Heard officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: James E. Haskett Sr., James E. Haskett Jr., Richard T. Haskett, John Bandy, Edwin James, Jerry Bauguss, and Ken Lance.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.

The family requests memorials be made to the Murphy First Baptist Church, PO Box 7, Murphy, NC 28906.
