TRUETT GRAY
Truett Gray, 74, of Andrews died Sunday (October 2, 2005) at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he had lived in Cherokee County for most of his life. He was the son of the late W.C. and Leuna Spears Gray. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. Truett was owner and operator of the Sealtest Distributionship for 34 years and later in life, he was a salesman for Jackie Jones Ford Dealership. He had served one term on the Andrews Town Board, was a 32 nd degree Mason with Andrews Masonic Lodge # 529, and Shriner. He was a member and deacon of the Andrews First Baptist Church where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent, Brotherhood Chairman, and many other positions in the church.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Alma Brooks Gray; two sons, Michael Gray and wife, Debbie and Gary Gray and wife, Stella all of Andrews; two sisters, Grace Hamilton of Denton, NC and Joyce Hogan of Andrews; three grandchildren, Amanda Morgan and husband, Michael, Collin Gray, and Carrie Gray; and one great grandchild, Mikayla Morgan.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Tuesday (Oct. 4) in the Andrews First Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Lamb and Rev. Ron McClure officiating. Burial in the Valleytown Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Andrews VFW Post 7620. Deacons as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Tuesday afternoon at the Andrews First Baptist Church prior to the services.
