Ivie Funeral Home GARY BENJAMIN “BENJI” MCRAE

Gary Benjamin “Benji” McRae, 31, of Murphy died Saturday (October 20, 2007). He was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. He had been employed by Radio Shack for over 12 years. Benji had been attending the Little Brasstown Baptist Church. His hobbies included working on computers and electronics.

Surviving are his daughter, Mia Kenzie McRae of Murphy; his mother, Becky Quinn Cole and husband, Dwayne of Murphy; his father, Merle McRae of Murphy; four brothers, Jody McRae, Darren McRae, and Chris Ledford all of Murphy, and Matt McRae of Charlotte, NC; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Quinn of Murphy; and his paternal grandfather, Harvey McRae of Andrews.

Funeral services at 7:00 PM Tuesday (Oct. 23) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Danny Elliott officiating. Interment at 10:00 AM Wednesday (Oct. 24) in the Owl Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jody McRae, Darren McRae, Chris Ledford, Matt McRae, Ronnie McRae, and Justin McRae.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:45 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
