JOYCE M. FREDERICK

Joyce M. Frederick, 63, of Murphy died Friday (September 7, 2007) in a Chattanooga, TN hospital. She was a native of Royal Oak, MI where she had lived most of her life before moving to Cherokee County in 1992. She was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Margaret Rivette Lingnau. She had worked as a secretary for Ford Motor Company and Lawrence Technological University. She was a longtime volunteer for the Sharing Center Food Pantry. She was a member of the Murphy Presbyterian Church where she served as secretary. She was an avid gardener and loved animals. Her hobbies included needlework.


She was preceded in death by a son, James R. Frederick, who died August 22, 2004.


Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Charles “Rusty” Frederick;  and a granddaughter, Bryanna J. Frederick of Ft. Myers, FL.


Funeral services at 6:00 PM Tuesday (Sept. 11) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Alan Wildsmith officiating.


The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:45 Tuesday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in loving memory of Joyce. M. Frederick to the Valley River Humane Society, 7450 US 19, Marble, NC 28905.
