JONATHAN VIRGAL “Fate” HANCOCK


 

Jonathan Virgal “Fate” Hancock, 20, of Murphy died Monday (September 10, 2007).  He was a native of Union County, GA where he had lived until moving to Cherokee County a year ago.  He was a 2006 graduate of Union County High School.  He was presently working as a cook for Brother’s Restaurant.  He was of the Baptist faith.  His hobbies included camping, basketball, and enjoying time with his family and friends.
 
Surviving are his parents, Virgal and Don-Ann Coleman Hancock of Marble;  a brother, Jeffrey Thomas Hancock of Murphy;  a half-sister, Holly Ann Coleman of Murphy;  his paternal grandfather, Marvin Virgal Hancock of Ellijay, GA;  his paternal grandmother, Fay Elizabeth Payne of Blairsville, GA;  his maternal grandfather, Don Coleman of Murphy; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Lanning Coleman;  a nephew, Elias Tefft of Murphy;  and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
 
Funeral services at 6:00 PM Friday (Sept. 14) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Dallas Crowder officiating.
 
The family will receive friends from 3-5:45 Friday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
