ROBERT LOUIS  GROSSMANN
 

Robert Louis Grossmann, 82, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Murphy, died Thursday (Sept. 20, 2007) in Lakeland.  A native of St. Clair County, IL, he was the son of the late Walter George and Viola Phillips Grossmann.  He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Marine Corp in the Pacific Theatre.  He was Director of the Schaumburg, IL Health Department for 23 years, retiring in 1985.  He was of the Baptist faith.
 
Surviving are his wife, Nelda Thomas Grossmann;  a daughter, Gloria Coble and husband, Gene of Alma, IL;  a son, Gary Robert Grossmann and wife, Gail of Belleville, IL;  a brother, Raymond Grossmann of Highland, IL;  and five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
