WILLIAM L. HOWELL

William L. Howell, 58, of Hayesville died Sunday (Sept. 02, 2007) at his residence. He was a native of Flint, MI, but had lived in Naples, FL before moving to Clay County in 1999. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. William was a truck driver in the freight industry and was a member of the Shooting Creek Church of God.


He was the son of the late Shirley Lorane Sellers Howell.
 
Surviving are a son, Samuel Howell of Philadelphia, PA; his father, Franklin L. Howell of Oscoda, MI;  a sister, Sherry Howell Bartholomew of Seffner, FL;  a brother, Allen Howell of Flower Mound, TX;  and two very very special friends, Bobbie Burrell and Billy Burrell, both of Hayesville.
 
Funeral services at 7:00 PM Tuesday (Sept. 4) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Rev. Eddie Brewer officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday (Sept. 5) in the Shooting Creek Church of God Cemetery. Pallbearers:  Gary Schu, Hugh Hamilton, Gary Swanson, Clemson Maney, Gene Moore, and Noland Huffman.
 
The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
 
The family requests memorials may be made in loving memory of William L. Howell to the Shooting Creek Church of God Cemetery Fund, 41 Neal Davenport Drive, Hayesville, NC 28904 or to the American Cancer Society, Hayesville Chapter, PO Box 1193, Hayesville, NC 28904-1193.
