LLOYD
HOGSED
Lloyd Hogsed, 86, of Hayesville died Thursday
(Sept. 11, 2003) in a Murphy care facility. A native of
Clay County, Lloyd lived and worked in Norcross, GA for
30 years before returning to Clay County in 1985. He was
the son of the late William Bryson and Cordie Garrett Hogsed
and the husband of the late Flo Lois McClure Hogsed, who
died in Nov. 2002 after 64 years of marriage. After his
retirement, he became the owner of a small apple orchard
on Highway 69 in Clay County.
Surviving are a daughter,
Patricia Carter of Jefferson, GA; a son, Chester Hogsed
of Hayesville; two sisters, Pauline Ashe of Kelso, WA and
Loree Ledford of Hayesville; a brother, Ellis Hogsed of
Lawrenceville, GA; three grandchildren, Julia Bowen, Michael
Carter, and Greg Hogsed; and three great grandchildren,
Jamie Bowen, and Zachary and Daniel Carter.
Funeral services at 3:00 PM
Saturday (Sept. 13) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home,
Hayesville with the Rev. James Payne officiating. Burial
in Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers:
Elmer Hogsed, Carl Scoggins, Jamie Bowen, Tony Woody, Daniel
Davenport, and James V. Ledford.
The family will receive friends
from 6-8 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
The family requests memorials
be made to the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery
Fund, 951 Old Highway 64 East, Hayesville, NC 28904.
