MARILYN DOWLER
Ruth Marilyn Dowler, 72, of Hayesville died Wednesday (Sept. 10) in Clay County
Care Center. A native of Boston, MA, Ruth had lived in Venice, FL before moving
to Hayesville eight years ago. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Violet
Hill Dowler. She was a librarian and school teacher, retiring with 40 years
of service. She was of the Episcopal faith.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Hampton. Surviving are two sisters,
Alice Bates of Hayesville and Kathleen Farretta of Chandler, AZ.
Memorial services at 11:00 AM Friday (Sept. 12) in the Episcopal Church of
the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Don O’Malley
officiating. Inurnment at a later date in Sarasota Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Parkinson’s
Disease Association, Inc., 1250 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10305. Ivie
Funeral Home, Hayesville in charge of arrangements.
