RUTH WANAMAKER

Ruth Wanamaker, 80, of Brasstown died Thursday (Sept. 4, 2003) in a Murphy hospital. A native of Chapel Hill, NC, she had lived in Plant City, FL most of her life before moving to Brasstown in 1998. Vivien was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Dora Clark Sparrow and the wife of the late George S. Wanamaker, who died in 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Plant City, FL.

Surviving are three daughters, Becky Wanamaker and Jan Ellen Walker both of Brasstown, and Ginny Diaz of Plant City, FL; a son, Sam Wanamaker of Plant City; and ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 10:00 AM Monday (Sept. 8) in the Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Roberts officiating. Burial in West Oaklawn Cemetery in Plant City.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 Sunday afternoon at the Haught Funeral Home, Plant City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Lexington Children's Home, PO Box 1288, Lexington, NC 27293 or the Appalachian Angels, 17 Peachtree Street, Murphy, NC 28906.
