MERLE REIGHARD HANNAH
Merle Reighard Hannah, 60, of Topton died Saturday (Sept. 18, 2004) unexpectedly at her home. A native of Cherokee County, Merle had lived most of her life in Macon County. She was the daughter of the late John Ervin and Flora Brady Reighard. She was a retired CNA and physical therapist assistant, having worked for Pro Rehab of Asheville. She was a member of the Rowlands Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Terrell Brady.
Surviving are a loving companion, Danny Staton; two daughters, Patricia Hannah and her companion, Bill Price and Josephine Lewis and her husband, David all of Waynesville; a son, Richard Colvard of Asheville; a twin sister, Pearl Reighard of Waynesville; a brother, John Reighard and his wife, Wanda of Topton; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Wednesday (Sept. 22) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Revs. Tony Cochran and Gene Bryant officiating. Burial in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Steven Hannah, Steve Guffey, Alton Kelley, Jerry Rowland, Eric Brown, and Pete VanRussam.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 Wednesday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the services.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Fund, No. 1 Heart Circle, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
