ROBERT L. SHIPLEY JR.
Robert L. Shipley Jr., 54, of Coral Springs, FL died Monday (Sept. 20, 2004) at his residence. A native of Connellsville, PA, he had lived in Coral Springs for nearly 38 years and had been a seasonal resident of Murphy for the past ten years. He was the son of Kathleen Murray Shipley Robbins of Coral Springs and the late Robert Louis Shipley Sr. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Navy. Robert served the citizens of South Florida as a law enforcement officer with the Miami-Dade Police Department from 1979 to 2004. He retired on January 2, 2004 as a sergeant in the narcotics division. Robert also had a great interest in muscle cars. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Nancy Yakin Shipley; three daughters, Kimberly Powers and husband, Jason of Hohenwald, TN, Nikki Shipley of Coral Springs, and Kelly Eidelberg and husband, Jay of Lake Worth, FL; his step-mother, Joanne Shipley; his step-father, James Robbins; a sister, Kathy Kamp of Davie, FL; a half-sister, Cathy Shipley of Connellsville, PA; a half-brother, David Shipley of Connellsville; and four grandchildren, Hunter, Savannah, Brody, and Memphis.
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday (Sept. 25) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. George Simmons officiating. Burial in Old Martins Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jason Powers, Jay Eidelberg, Glen Kamp, and Dirk Hamilton.
The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 Saturday morning at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
