CHITWOOD LINGO
Wanda Chitwood Lingo, 61, of Hayesville died Friday (Sept. 24, 2004) at her residence. A native of Torrance, CA, Wanda had lived most of her life in Daytona Beach, FL before moving to Hayesville eight years ago. She was the daughter of the late Wilber and AnnaBelle Watts Chitwood. She was a Deputy Sheriff for the Volusia County, FL Sheriff's Department, retiring in 1998 after 18 years of service. She was a member of the Truett Memorial Baptist Church. Wanda was a loving wife and mother.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Thad L. Lingo III; a daughter, Patricia Dawn Ham of Hayesville; two sons, Timothy Lingo of Chapel Hill, NC and Thad Lee Lingo IV and wife, Jesica of Port Orange, FL; two brothers, Preston Henn of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Thomas Chitwood of Daytona Beach; and two granddaughters, Dawna Ham and Hailey Lingo.
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Monday (Sept. 27) in the Truett Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Foster and Troy Long officiating. Burial in the Eagle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Daryl Moore, Clarence Woody, Bill Brackett, Guy Lingo, Jim Peery, and Barry Beck. Buddy Meisch as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville where the body will be until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
The family requests memorials be made to the Truett Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 464, Hayesville, NC 28904.
