JEAN  ROGERS


 

Jean Rogers, 75, of Hayesville died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 in a Murphy medical center. A native and lifetime resident of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Riley and Pauline Crisp Burrell and the wife of the late Bill Rogers, who died April 6, 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of the Meadow Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Burrell.

Surviving are a daughter, Debra “Debbie” Rogers Green and husband, Ronnie of Murphy; two sons, Gerry Rogers and wife, Pam of Kennesaw, GA and David Rogers and wife, Edwina of Hayesville; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jonathan Rogers both of Kennesaw and Robert and Breanna Rogers both of Hayesville.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 25 in the Meadow Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Nuckolls and Jimmy Rogers officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeffrey, Jonathan, and Robert Rogers, Tommy Hooper, Elliott Arrowood, and Jerry Lowe.

The family received friends from 2-3:45 Thursday afternoon at the Meadow Grove Baptist Church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Jean Rogers to the Meadow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Dorothy Martin, 133 Jarrett Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
